Our Busy Summer
It has been a busy summer so far. In June Rick and I went to Morro Bay to visit Susan and to go the wine festival in Paso Robles. Then it was off to the east coast with Paris. First for National History Day at the University of Maryland where Paris was competing. Then off to Raleigh NC to visit Tom and Laura, back to Ft Belvoir to drop Paris off with Isabella and Shawn, up to Morristown NJ to visit Harriet, up to Cos Cob to visit Nick and Cristina and to attend little Nickys graduation, down to Ardmore PA to visit Gene and Patsy and Longwood Gardens, down to Maryland to visit John and family and finally back to Ft Belvoir to Isabella and Shawn. Most recently we had a birthday party for Kalais.
National History Day with Paris
Paris and her friend were finalists from Oregon at National History Day. She and her friend did a skit about the Chicago fire. We took her to Six Flags with her friend Eliza. What a great experience for the kids!
Visiting Tom and Laura in Raleigh
We had a nice visit with Tom and Laura, eating great food, visiting the science museum, trying to visit the planetarium, and of course seeing the statue of liberty in North Carolina is a must!
Visiting baby Jack
We had a great visit with John and Carol, Heidi, Allan and Jack and Ona. It was a gorgeous day in June. 
Birthday party with 8 kids, YIKES
Its not easy going from zero kids to 8 grandkids! The dogs, Pokie and Zoe, aren't too crazy about this either. We had a birthday party for Kalais (just turned 3) with her sisters Paris (12) and Mia (17), her brother Elery (1 1/2), her cousins Gaitzka (almost 4), Kitty (almost 2), Jacob (5) and Kala (9).
